Greetings from Rev. Stephen Yusko, Parochial Vicar
My dear parishioners of St. Madeleine Sophie and St. Gabriel’s, Our Lady Queen of Peace and St. Margaret of Cortona, peace in Christ.
Though I have had the great pleasure of meeting many of you, I thought I would write this short piece in order to introduce myself. My name is Fr. Stephen Yusko, and I have been a priest of the Diocese for a little over a year. I was born and raised in Hudson, NY, where my parents still reside, so I am not too far from home – a fact that makes my parents very happy, particularly my mother. I am a graduate of Hudson High School, where I was the captain of my baseball team. After High School, I attended the University of Alabama (Roll Tide!) as a freshman before transferring to SUNY Oneonta where I graduated in 2012 with a bachelor’s degree in Business Economics. While running from the call to the priesthood, I worked for the NYS Assembly for several years before deciding to enter Seminary. I was blessed to attend the Pontifical North American College in Rome, IT for my seminary formation, where I completed my licentiate degree in Moral Theology with a concentration in Bioethics from the Pontifical University of St. Thomas Aquinas (Angelicum) this past June. It is an honor for me to be ministering to you all, and I pray that during my time here we may grow in the love of Christ and His Church, as well as in our love for one another. Finally, please know that I am here for you all, so if you have any questions – particularly regarding the faith, morals, or bioethics – I’ll be happy to try to help as best I can. I look forward to serving you. May God bless you all!
In Christ, through Mary, Fr. Yusko
